What is passion?
Things like love, joy, sadness, hope, fear—the principal passions. Passions are impulses, urges, feelings—emotional reactions to things we like or dislike. Our passions motivate us to act in certain ways. And when we do, we become passionate.
 “Passion” means???
The word “passion” itself simply means “to suffer with.” Through his Passion on the cross, Jesus Christ became the most passionate soul on the **** of the earth. “God proved His love for us in that while we were still sinners, Christ died for us” (Romans 5:8). St. Thomas Aquinas says that “in his Passion, Christ’s weakness has a power that surpasses every human power, producing its effects through faith.” The sins we have committed and the suffering we have endured are covered by the love of the Father who sent his Son to suffer for us. We’re called to have passion for this truth!
The Power of Passion
“The point of Christ’s Passion is to break down the obstacles on our side which prevent us profiting from his merits” (St. Thomas Aquinas). We don’t want to lower the bar of virtue! Now is the time to get more out of Christ’s Passion and our own so that we can care for people like never before.
