Author Reading with John Harper and Open Mic Poetry 21 August 2020 | Sexta, 21. Agosto 2020

Booranga Writers' Centre and Rabbit Books are pleased to host Irish/Australian poet John Harper at our monthly series of literature events.

John is known as the Singing Scientist as he brings his creativity to teaching science to University students and his outreach projects.

Growing up during the troubles in Belfast, Northern Ireland, John Harper escaped to Australia in 1986 at the age of 27 and has been here ever since.

John writes poetry and flow-of-consciousness songs where he sings a song from start to finish after having visualised what the music shows him.

John is close to publishing his first book of poems "Belfast Boy" and will share some of them with you along with some of his songs.

There will be Open Mic opportunities for your new work. Join us for an evening of laughter, great conversation and the opportunity to share or discover writing talent in the Riverina.

Supper will have an Irish flavour and drinks including Whisky and Guinness will be available to purchase on the evening.
